New Paintings

I have been so busy painting. I am so sorry I have not been on this blog in a while. I had some art and craft shows!! I have been having so much fun!
Here is some photos of my booth... I shared it with another lady. I used her table clothes etc for this show. But I am looking for some Mid Century colors for table clothes.. solids are best I think so the arts and crafts stand out... Would love some ideas to give it a more retro or Mid Century look.....

Vintage Pin Up Inspired Cartoon

I was asked by Karmen Veranda Vintage Hats to come up with a Vintage Pin Up Inspired Cartoon from the neck up for her business cards featuring her lovely hats..... She had seen some of my vintage pin up inspired art. Jean gave me her ideas of a lady that looks similar to her, with an outrageous hat that does not take away from the girl. I have modeled some of these hats and facinators for Jean and her daughter Katie whom is a wonderful Photographer. They are stunning. facinators as well...
More info coming soon!

Her she is. I will have to ask her to send me a photo of the finished business card to post!

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Both hats are stunning... What a wonderful masterpiece of art!

Love the shade of Blue!

wearing a beautiful intricate rose fascinator!

Queen Elizabeth II wore a lovely yellow colored hat.

The wife of Prince Edward, Sophie Countess of Wessex , in an off-white rosette spray.

Princess Mathilde of Belgium, wife of the heir to the Belgian throne,
in a teal umbrella-brimmed hat.

Sophie Winkleman, Lady Frederick Windsor, in an elegant navy blue straw hat.

Princess Michael of Kent's hat in white and a lovely shade of blue.

Princess Marie Chantal of Greece in lovely pale grey flowers.

I love Princess Catherine's vintage style wedding dress!

Her dress was so much like Grace Kelly wore, when she wed Ranier III, Prince of Monaco,  in 1956

Oh and I can not leave out the beautiful vintage dress and hats of Princess Beatrice, 22, and Princess Eugenie, 21, they adorned for their cousin, Prince William’s wedding!
Oh I just love it!

Music, Time, Box and Tray....

Today I am just posting somethings I have in the house but thought I should share.
This is my radio in my kitchen... It works wonderful and sounds so clear. Its Admiral Tube Radio... Its a little treasure to me..

This is a box full of time pieces... I liked the box because of the lady's painting inside of it. I am an artist and love to paint portraits. So this seemed to be the box for me. I bid on it in an auction and one the bid.

Here is a dinner tray I found at a Sally Anne. I just like the wood grain and the utensils.
The whole family enjoys using this tray!

Style Icon, Move Star, Humanitarian, and Inspirational Audrey Hepburn...

Audrey Hepburn was a Style Icon, Move Star, Humanitarian, and Inspirational Lady. Not only do I admire her style, her clothing....I really love her thoughts on life and I love her quotes.
My husband is in love with her. No matter if you grew up watching her in the 1950's and 60's or if you just saw this blog with her photo posted here for the first time...
How do they say it:
“Nobody escapes Audrey Hepburn.”

"For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others."
Audrey Hepburn

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
Audrey Hepburn

"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a w......oman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years. ~"
Audrey Hepburn

"If I get married, I want to be very married."
Audrey Hepburn

"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles"
Audrey Hepburn

"people, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone."
Audrey Hepburn

Special Sewing Pin Pal!

I love to sew. My husband for a wedding gift gave me a sewing machine.....Perfect wedding gift!
My mother in law gave me some of her sewing treasures a few years later. She passed away in 2004 and this was very sad time for our family. She was a wonderful lady, mother, grandmother and friend. My mother in law did not like to sew but I use to make lots of dresses for her. I miss that. Yesterday I stayed up really late working on a dance costume for my daughter. The sleeves are very gathered and I had to use allot of pins! Well I thought last night that I should share one of my treasures that my mother in law had gifted me! It is a wonderful treasure and sure has helped me over the years. Its the Pin Pal! I still have the original box and instructions inside the box. But its simple you just take off the lid , add the pins, put the lid back on, and then push on the top of the lid down and a pin pops up out of the whole! Much like the tooth pick holders. I just love my Pin Pal.
